So noa ran her first half marathon this past weekend. It was called the fall classic, and she signed up a few months ago when the end of november sounded probably cold, but alright. Well, it wasnt cold and alright, it was freezing with a little more freeze on top.

The day of the race, sunday morning, we woke up early and got out to UBC where the event was being held. i think it may have been -3C or so. the race was delayed a bit while they were making sure the roads were well salted.

Marissa met me a bit later, as she was running the 5k that day too.

Congrats to both of them on doing so well in the race, specially the cold!

so i wanted to get a few orchids for the house. instead of going to all the big box stores, i wanted to see what was around in vancouver, when i stumbled upon this. http://www.vancouverorchids.com/ Its a regular home where that the owner runs an orchid design shop out of. so, last long weekend, noa and i made an appointment and had a look.

The whole backyard has been converted into an orchid hot house! its absolutely amazing to see.

there were so many cool ones to choose from.

i think my favorite part is the 10 dollar wall of orchids that he has no idea what color they are.

we ended up settling on buying 2 for ourselves, 1 unknown that will bloom in a few months, and 1 as a wedding gift. i like the one we got as a wedding gift so much i wanted to keep it too.

We ended up spending 2 hours there, which flew buy for me as i was learning and gawking at all the orchids.
