Well,

dave and i have been flying pretty intensely the last few weeks. i upgraded my foam super cub in order to make it more aerobatic and to fly faster. in technical terms, i made her brushless and added ailerons.

anyways, took a few flight to get the balance right, but eventually i did, got her all trimmed out nice, and man, its fun to fly. because the super cub is foam, its a lot less scary to fly, and she doesnt roll as much as the funtana. or fly as fast. so im already a lot more comfortable, working my way up using ailerons fully and stuff. anyways, last Saturday i was in the zone, flying inverted, loops, and all kinds of stuff. so dave said, land, switch battery, and lets make a upgraded video.

So, that was my first real crash. ive had TONS of flights, and i learned to fly on this plane. it was about the 5th flight after i modded her, and well, we were being stupid. and by we, i mean I. i were being really stupid. it was pretty windy, and i was trying crazy stuff for the video, and well, those dont go together well. but, all that broke was the propeller and prop shaft! WOW! about 10 buck in total! im pretty lucky, that was a tough crash.

on ANOTHER note, i also did my first aerial photography. i want to take pictures from the sky, but its easier to take video, so have a gander at this. its actually pretty rough to watch, but i do attempt a loop. now that the plane flys better, ill get better videos, and hopefully some pictures too.

had 2 good practice flights, but he got disoriented the 3rd, and well, nosedove.

wow. thats a lot. if you hung all the way thru, well, congratz.! but theres more to come. in a lot of the videos you saw we finally fly with a windsock. i found one at ikea, for cheap, and well, its great to finally have one as we fly. cause, theres always wind in vancouver.

i worked furiously last week to upgrade the super cub to have ailerons and with a new motor/ESC and receiver, to work with my dx7 (transmitter). mostly because the crappy transmitter it came with, well, was crappy, and we want to turn the super cub into an aerial photography platform. So, modifications it was, and i got everything ready just in time to get out before it started raining yesteday.

Well, it all worked well, but, i was massively tail heavy. contrary to what i thought as i was flying. so, ill fix that, and the next flight should be great! aerial photography videos and pictures, here we come!
