leaving tuscany, we had nice cloudy weather.  so as we were packing up and getting ready to go, took a few last photos. Perugia

The last full day in tuscany, we visited Perugia in Umbria.  it too is on a side of a hill, but since its the capital of the region, its well organized to move people around.  there is a mini-metro, which i was super excited to see, and did not get to.  only bummer of the trip.  but there is also a huge set of underground escalators that take you up to the top of the hill, through old underground tunnels, which is super cool. so…

Spello and Assisi

The 6th Day in italy, we decided to explore umbria.  we were right on the border between tuscany and umbria, and the host of the house we were renting told us of some good spots to visit.  so, we quite aggressively decided to see 3 of those on this day, but ended up only being able to see 2 of them.  those two cities were Spello and Assisi.
