Mainz

one of our four days in germany, we toured the old city of mainz.  i had spent some time there a year ago when i attended a wedding in mainz, and got to know the city a little bit.  another of my childhood friends named alex lives there, and i got to meet up with him again this trip.  We had a nice stroll around the city, with him tour guiding us around all while catching up about what has been happening in our lives.

half of mainz is a “new” city, while the other half is the old city.  this was mainly since during world war 2, the church dome was used as a bomb guide for bombing the city of mainz.  this is that church.  apparently its almost constantly under renovations.
