So on the way to israel, we had a 24h ish layover in amsterdam, which was really nice. noa’s mother was already there, and we met her in the hotel where she was staying. that evening, we were picked up by some dutch friends who took us to dinner at a small restaurant. the fun part though was that to get there, you had to cross the canal, and take a little ferry!
i tell you what, if this was all it took to get to the island, i woul like ferries a lot more.
holland really is beautiful.
so the next day, we decided to brave amsterdam, even though it was raining some. so we went prepared, with an umbrella. apparently it had been really raining pretty hard up to this point.
this is the team i used to take to school everyday, adter taking a train.
the 51 tram, new trains, very nice.
and, one of the main reasons for the trip, poffertjes! little mini pancake type thinggys
the i am amsterdam sign got moved to leidseplein. way too many tourists
one of the main shopping streets
the tram line down the middle of the road
and the last reason, and most important, for the stopover in amsterdam!
our tasty sandwiches
so, then we went home, and it poured rain out for the rest of the afternoon, until we had to take the taxi to the airport around 6. next up, what i’ve been up to in israel so far!
