So dan came over 2 nights ago to try out the dogfishead that i brought home, and to bring over some ipa’s from england too.
So, first, the 120 minute IPA. now, remmeber, this is a 10 USD beer, for a bottle. so a lot of hops went into it. when we opened it, i was actually surprised, there was not a really flowery aroma like i would expect. and after the first sip, its cloyingly sweet. almost a desert beer. so sweet it was actually a little hard to even drink half a glass full. and the bitterness was not there either that i would of expected, like a Screw you clive IPA.
now, the brew dog beers are from a brewery in england. one was an imperial ipa, the other a sort of light IPA. both were okay, nothing super great. neither was super bitter, and neither had a great hop aroma im looking for.
i dont know, maybe i was expecting more. im pretty dissapointed with the dogfishead. ill just stick with the 60 and 90 minute ones i guess. or with good ol surrey girl in a can.
Ever tried Sink the Bismark from BrewDog? 41% alcohol content, a “quadruple” IPA.
