Just me and the hoe

So, i was at brule mine for the week. flew up mon morning and just got back last night.

it was a pretty good week, but busy. i didnt really get to do what i planned on getting done while i was there, because this project came up where we are trying to build a new sediment pond, and i had to go survey some areas for it. but more on that in a minute.

first, after the first day there, went to bed, woke up the next day on tuesday, and what greeted me outside, snow.
GREAT, i thought! mid September

anyways, it only snowed that morning, so it wasnt so bad. the rest of the week was actually pretty nice too.

so, back to my week long project, so, i had to get about a kilometer into the bush, to stake out this area. well, in order to do so, we had to blaze a new trail in order to clear a large enough area, so that i would be able to get a satellite fix for my GPS.

so i basically spent 3 days out in the middle of the forest, giving general directions to a backhoe operator, while i followed him, trying to figure out where we were. luckily, by the time the consultants came around to take their samples, i was in the area i needed to be.

here is a picture of the backhoe and the atv i had to use to bring my equipment down

sadly i did not have the good camera with me this trip, noa needed it at work. so i had to use a really old camera they had at site. i say sadly, because i saw a fox in the pit this time around, and he got pretty close, and i wish i could of gotten a picture of him.

so that was pretty much my week. it was pretty fun bombing around on the atv down this 700m long trail me made. i got stuck quite a few times, which was fine, since i had a winch to pull myself out.

yep. thats about the most interesting parts of the trip.
