After arriving in england, we took the train to london to meet our friend giacomo who was going to keep our luggage for the day until we met up at 5 to go home with him to brighton.
he took us around at his lunch hour, and showed us some sights and set us down the thames to keep looking around. we saw things like the tower of london, on the left here, which isnt acutally a very big tower.. and the tower bridge, which is on the right here. people always think this is the london bridge, but its not. the london bridge really is nothing special..
what i thought was really crazy is that at lunch time, grous of people stand around, outside of pubs, and just drink beer. seems very typical of england, to me. they love their beer. PLUS, your allowed to just walk around outside and drink too. this still seems very crazy to my north american mind. we werent even allowed to do that in amsterdam!
Lastly, we stumbled across the globe theatre, and well.. we got sidetracked by noa there for a few hours. we went on the tour, which takes you around and you get told the history of the globe, as they know it and stuff. this is actually the third globe theatre, the first one was burned down during a show, the second one was torn down by the monarchy, and.. this is the third. it was spearheaded by an american who was a shakespere finatic, and wanted to see the theatre back in action.
after that, we went and met giac at his office and made our way to the train station, for the hour long train ride home. you know what the crazy thing is…. if your a regular commuter, you can get wireless for your laptop in the train!
