A long long time ago, lets say around last september, i found a kickstarter that really appealed to me. if you dont know about kickstarter, its a website where if you have an idea, you can have people pledge money to you in order to raise a certain goal. if you reach that goal, you get the money, and off you go. if you dont make your goal, nothing happens. So, if your kickstarter funds, then depending on how much you pledged, you in theory get something depending on what the project is. so i saw one that was for a guy from Illinois, who is into casting things, and wanted to do a production run of good quality crepe pans.
so he started a kickstarter, i backed it, and it god funded. sweet. the really cool thing is i know nothing about metal casting, but along the way we would get updates and little video’s as he was doing sample pours, and touring a metal casting facility where they would run his template eventually. super cool stuff. the problem is that he was so well funded, that for a one person army, these were a lot of crepe pans to get. anyways, since we were moving, i asked to have it shipped to israel.
a month ago or so it finally arrived, and is super cool. I made a batch of crepes for the family one morning, and after getting adjusted to how to properly make crepes, i was off running turning out reasonably good looking ones.

as part of the kickstarter i got a crepe flipper and spreader, as can be seen in the picture. the pan itself is amazing. i had to season the cast iron and it worked superbly. the discolouration is from the seasoning process
