Well, it was finally time. over the last few weeks i finally worked up the courage to fly the funtana. well, that and it was finally nice enough weather on the weekend that we could actually go out to fly! so, last weekend, i brought out the entire fleet so far, minus the discus glider.
so, heres what happened. dave flew his heli and plane around some, it was a kinda windy day, so i was seeing if the wind would die down some. well, it did not, so finally, i said, alright. lets do it. full power on takeoff, to get in the air as fast as possible, and boy, she definitely took off fast. i quickly brought her into a large climbing circle, and got as much altitude as i could! wow, she flys like a dream. super responsive, still a little twitchy to my untrained hands, but im getting used to it. its pretty different from flying the slow foam piper cub. i tried a few loops, did those with ease. i brought her in for a landing just fine. no problems so far! about a week later i went for my second flight, and this time tried a few more stunts. i scared myself half to death a few times, but as long as you have altitude, your good! so with a few flights under my belt now, im itching to go fly more.
as for the demoiselle, dave asked on a forum of az flyers, at the chandler bowl, where my dad and i went to go watch over xmas, and they offered a suggestion to my motor cutting out at full power. loose solder joint. well, we found it, fixed it, and boy, the demoiselle is a new airplane. she climbs like a bat out of hell, needs 1 foot to take off, and is a great little park flyer now. super fun to fly too, and im able to climb a lot higher than before! i got a great video of my last flight, i just have to manage to get it online still.
so, thats my airplane news, more to come as i get more stuff online.
